Born in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, northeast of Detroit,
M k Santos lived in Michigan most of her life with the exception of 4 years living in Miami, Florida and briefly resided in Los Angeles and New York City.
These were years of exploration and experimentation with various methods of artistic expression.
Watercolor and Gouache became her mediums
of choice. The application process is sometimes unpredictable, using edges of various materials is at times a non-cooperative process but the results are always inspiring. The focus of the work is the moment of nature just caught in the corner of the eye, the beauty or striking contrast you almost walked past.
The artist moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2005.
